About My Fan Fiction
Since September 22, 2002, I've been presenting my fanfic ideas to
the world on FanFiction.Net. It was my senior year in high school and I was finally getting back into the things I truly
loved and was no longer trying to be someone I was not.
My first year was my mostly active, though I was still trying to
figure out proper grammar at that time and, as of now, I consider my first fic awful. Writing fanfiction kind of gives
me a very small taste of what it's like to be a real writer... more because of my (very small) fanbase than anything else
of course. I'm aware that real writers don't consider fan fiction real writing, and I can see why, but I still enjoy
it as a hobby.
The one thing I love about fan fiction is to be able to put my favorite
characters into situations I can only wish happened in their actual canon story. I try to stick close to the canon as
close as possible, depending on the story, but I also love the freedom to give certain ideas a nice twist. And wouldn't
you know, a couple of my smaller ideas have actually ended up in the actual canon, though I'm very sure it's nothing more
than coincidence.
As of this writing, it has been over 8 years since I began fan fiction.
Though I'm not as active as I used to be, I like to say that I'm still going pretty strong. I know there will be a time
in my life when I have to tell myself that it's time to retire, but I guess that's life for you. There have been plenty
of ups and downs and quite a few road (writer's) block, but that's to be expected even with the things you love.
